Please give this page some time to load. Thank you! Yellow highlighted rows indicate the winner of the division for each event location. Scroll to the right to see additional columns. You should also be able to download the spreadsheet and sort rows such as rankings. In the event of a tie for the best skips, typically it is the highest number of cumulative skips is used to determine the division ranking. Event organizers may also decide that a stone skip-off is necessary to determine the winner of the tie-breaker.
In some instances (likely due to errors on our part) timing of the events are miscommunicated. In those situations, we like to allow participants who show up later than the event still participate so that their score is tallied. An asterisk * is placed in the division ranking column in those situations. We appreciate your understanding!
Also, you will notice that scores from some of the more established events have been added. These are not affiliated with Rock of Ages Challenge, but we want to include them since there are so many impressive tosses and they are top notch events! These events are bold, italicized and red to help distinguish them from Rock of Ages Challenge events.
2025 Summary (To Date):
All scheduled Rock of Ages Challenge events have been completed, and the official results have been posted below. It was a fun year of stone competitions, and we are looking forward to next year! In the Rock of Ages Challenge events, Josh Stevens (Houghton, MI), Jim Bates (Flushing, MI) and Trent Molaison (Traverse City, MI) rounded out the top 3 amateur spots with tosses of 24, 20 and 16. These skippers moved into the Rock of Ages Pro division and once again rounded out the top 3 spots. Jim Bates had a toss of 25, Josh Stevens had a toss of 18 and Trent Molaison had a toss of 17. In addition to the Pro division, we had a second chance competition for any skipper to compete and win the honorary Grand Champion Status. This sudden death contest was once again a close one. This time, Trent Molaison was crowned the 2025 Grand Champion.
Harrison Walker from Rogers City, MI was the best overall skipper in the 12 & Under Division and Emery Kamyszek was the top skipper in the Kerplunking division in 2025.
Thank you to all who participated in the various Rock of Ages Challenge events this year! Special shout out to Jim Bates who traveled from Flushing, MI to have some outstanding tosses and donate his winnings to the Mancelona Food Pantry. Thank you Jim! Looking forward to seeing you participate again in various events. Josh Stevens also donated his winnings; Thank you Josh! Thank you Kurt Steiner and Jon Jennings for participating in our Lake City event. Kurt and Jon are consistently among the world's best stone skippers.
Official results have not been posted yet for the WT Rabe Stone Skipping contest on Mackinaw Island, but we do know that Dana "Launching Panda" Olson won the event in typical choppy waters on July 4th. With a little bit of research, you can see names of professional skippers that consistently show up on the leaderboards, such as Dave Ohmer, Jon Jennings, Andy Severns, Kyle Graff, Aidan Woolsey, Enzo Ferrari and others (see below).
Congratulations to all the skippers! Send us any results if you can and we will try to keep this updated.
